Job Description:
Short term (2 weeks) small online store development on BigCommerce to support VDOF online seedling sales.
MAX VENDOR RATE: $54.02
Pls make sure candidate knows this is a 2 week assignment only (cannot go over 80 hours total) due to nature of project
Interviews: In person only
To NOTE: Once offer is extended and candidate starts, there will be an initial meeting at their office in Charlottesville for the hand-off and overview of project details and how to proceed/expectations going forward.
After the initial meeting, most of the work can be done remotely with daily check in on the status. For an experienced person, this should be fairly straightforward.
ABOUT THE ROLE
VDOF (Va Dept of Forestry) is moving and updating its existing online seedling store to a hosted environment (BigCommerce). The agency needs assistance in updating an existing free template to reflect VDOF needs, build a small amount of informational web pages (est. 15 maximum) and customize the control for selection of delivery dates (certain days of week during a given time frame).
Goal is to go live on 1 November. Additional time to modify and adjust after go-live.
DAY TO DAY:
Website developer will be asked to Reference existing nursery information (http://dof.virginia.gov/nursery/index.htm), seedling catalog (http://dof.virginia.gov/infopubs/Seedling-Catalog-2017-2018_pub.pdf) as last year's example, and current store (https://www.buyvatrees.com/) for existing data sources.
Experience with QuickBooks integration is beneficial, but not required.
Job Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of current HTML/CSS. Use of Handlebars.js is preferred.

Ability to bulk import inventory (description, images, prices) with BigCommerce platform of less than 1000 items.

For shipping options, ability to modify the calendar control to allow for limited deliver times, for example M-W, 20 Feb to 1 May.
